Let me just start off by saying I read a lot of good things about this brand new haunt from an online review by the Chicago Tribune. So, Countess & I just had to make the trip to Morton Grove to check it out for ourselves! Vell, ve vere not disappointed! You have to drive a little bit down a few dark side streets in order to get to the haunt, but that vas part of the fun! Once you see the police car's flashing lights and flares by the entrance you know you made it to FEAR City Chicago! The outside of the haunt is rather nondescript and housed inside an old flamingo making factory I vas told.
However, once you get past the front doors the frights begin!
The unique theme of this haunt is Chicago! Your journey starts on a life-size "L" train inside of a realistic replica of a CTA station. My favorite scene! The train actually moves, jumps and you see the lights flash by outside the car while a zombie passenger runs around you! Fun! Another interesting scene vas at the Wrigley Field inspired ballpark scene complete vith the infamous goat chewing on an unfortunate (Cubs) fan! Then there vas a doll room, an aiport and a circus scene vith clowns! That circus scene vas my other favorite part because of the giant face and mouth painted on the exiting doorvay is one of Chicagoland's recently disgraced politicians that I had the unique opportunity to interview last year! For those of you that follow my site you know vho I mean!! Ha!
So much detail vas put into the majority of the sets and the actors vere very good at interacting vith the patrons! You can skip the line and purchase the VIP tickets for an extra $10 and then you get the bonus Peep Show scene! I'm assuming that ghoulish peep show vas inspired by The Admiral?! Even the snack bar at the end is made to look like the elevated tracks! Great job FEAR City Chicago! Two Fangs Up!
